On their journey in search of the six swords, Varush and his party at last arrive at the remains of a village once home to a congregation of swordsmiths. Though they had thought the village deserted, they heard a faint sound and headed towards its direction. The source was a child, collapsed at the entrance of a dilapidated house. There were visible signs that someone had been occupying the old residence until just recently, but the group found no one except this child on the brink of death. After somehow getting him to drink a bit of water, the child coughed violently as he regained consciousness. He then shared that his family had fled from the war before arriving at this deserted village. His parents had gone out one day to drive some monsters away, but they have yet to return. In a world of war, the innocent and the helpless suffer the greatest casualties. Will what Varush and his companions procure on their journey serve to create a peaceful future for children such as the boy before them? Overcome by a fleeting moment of helplessness, the group gazes distantly as the sun begins to set upon the village. |
