A master swordsmith once visited the east, and from the volcanic rock and meteoric iron he found there, he forged a blade—Emberwrit. It was a unique weapon, for it could be sharpened by channeling one's fighting spirit through the blade, causing it burn with searing heat. A swordsman who mastered the use of his spirit wielded the weapon and earned it renown far and wide, but as the weeks and months went by, a darkness began to take root within Emberwrit. For this reason, the weapon was stored away in safety never to see use again. That was until Garrousa appeared, drawn to the blade like a moth to a flame. Garrousa killed the swordsman and claimed Emberwrit as his own, marking the beginning of a terrible, intimate bond between his madness and the darkness dwelling in the blade.
