Long ago, there was a famous swordsmith who was obsessed with the sharpness of his blades. One day, as a way to unwind after pouring his heart and soul into one of his creations, he forged a series of small, curved blades. The blades were too small to be wielded as weapons, but he thought it a waste to simply put them on the mantelpiece, so he decided to embed them in a steel gauntlet. The result was not exactly a protective gauntlet, but not quite a weapon for the fists either, and he assumed it would be of little use in battle. However, skilled fighters discovered that when worn, the gauntlet strangely seemed to sharpen both their command of the blade and even their blades themselves, to the point that they could slice through tempered steel in a single stroke. Needless to say, this made the swordsmith even more famous than ever.
